Fill, dirty bag with lake or river water, hang bag in tree or set on top of rock, open clean end valve, let water fill lines and filter, raise clean water bag above dirty water bag to purge air by reversing flow water through filter, once air bubbles stop lower bag and the dirty bag will flow through the filter making clean drinkable water.
